Erreà Sponsors Transfagarasan Speed World Record!

On 3 August, Erreà Sport will sponsor the Transfagarasan Speed World Record race that will see attempt to break a world record on the super-fast Transfagarasan, "the most beautiful road in the world", in the shadow of Dracula’s Castle, in Romania.

This ambitious plan is the brainchild of Fabio Barone, president of the Passione Rossa Ferrari Club, who hit the headlines last year for having completed the Nurburgring in less than eight minutes, again in a "red" from Maranello.

Now Barone is setting his sights high again: a record to be sealed by speeding through a relentless series of bends across the Carpathians, reaching over 2,000 meters above sea level.

The goal was presented to the press at the Foreign Ministry Club in Rome. The press conference revealed the special livery designed for the Ferrari, prepared by Leone Motors of Rome in collaboration with the German engineer Capristo, which also shows the Erreà logo: The car’s design uses strong references to Dracula, and is openly intended to be frightening. Especially to the stopwatch. About 150 kg lighter thanks to an intensive use of carbon and with a special exhaust, the Ferrari has customised electrics and an improved airbox to counter the thin air at altitude.

Erreà has provided all the polo shirts and representation and leisure wear for Fabio Barone and his team of a dozen people, including preparatory engineers, mechanics and personal trainers.

The world record attempt will also be the subject of a special documentary, like the one filmed at the Nurburgring last year.
